VIBRATIONS

The "Vibrations" and “Monochrome” series explore and document the connection between acoustic and visual relationships. While the line of works named Vibrations uses solely paper as a material to demonstrate this exploration, Monochrome refers to the line of work strictly on canvas which follows the same logic and process.

Sound profoundly influences the visual dimension of the works in the "Vibrations" series. Whether it's the sound of specific music or the notable absence of sound in moments of complete silence, the sounds within the studio, such as tools, paint mixing, footsteps, and background noises, become more pronounced and relevant. The dynamics, character, and energy of the sound find expression through the rhythmic movements of the hand on the canvas or paper. This is done with minimal visual control over the emerging work. What shapes the results is the sound itself and how it's conveyed through the hand's movements, much like a dance or the gestures of a conductor.
