TEXT-BASED WORK
In addition to her primary focus on the traditional medium of painting, Lena Zak frequently delves into text-based works. This verbal mode of expression is linked to her professional background in creative writing. While her main focus remains abstract, text-based works find their place in nearly all of Lena's exhibitions and installations. Whether the text is presented in print, spray-painted on canvas or objects, or integrated into an installation as a projection, it serves as a direct means to convey the message, artistic intent, or emotion. This stands in contrast to abstract painting, which often allows for a broader range of interpretations.
